Hansard Management Services makes two key appointments
April 7, 2009 – Guernsey trust company Hansard Management Services has announced two new appointments, with a focus on business development and client acquisition. Alan Northmore has been promoted to director, in client services, while Karen Blanchard-Foster joins the company as head of business development and marketing.
Both Northmore and Blanchard-Foster will focus on improving current client relationships and winning new business, for the group. He is Securities Institute qualified, has been with the Hansard group for nine years, in client services and latterly as a director of Hansard Trust Company Limited.
“Taking on this role is a big challenge for me and I’m looking forward to exploring new business opportunities, particularly using my experience in the world of Islamic finance,” he said. Prior to joining Hansard, Northmore worked in trust and fiduciary for Coutts and HSBC in Guernsey.
Blanchard-Foster is FPC qualified and brings 10 years of pan-island finance industry experience to the group. She previously worked with Investec Bank in business development and indeed at Abbey National, where she first formed a relationship with Hansard Management Services Limited.
“I’m not a ‘sit behind a desk’ sort of person, so implementing a business development programme highlighting the positive features of our business, is very much about going out and meeting people. It is an exciting time for Hansard, as we have already seen significant growth over recent years and are ready to embark on a new business development program that we hope will provide yet more growth and ensure that Hansard will weather the current world financial issues and see us through years to come.
“All of us at Hansard Management Services are keen to showcase the excellent job we do for our clients, and prove that an individually focused ‘boutique’ approach to trust management is the best way forward,” she said.
Philip Blows, managing director of the Hansard group of companies, said: “The appointment of Karen and the promotion of Alan are both important steps in the development of our company, and, given that the basis of our business is individual relationships, it bodes well that two such able individuals are part of our team. Karen and Alan will add real energy to our client services, both in managing our existing client base and in bringing new business to our group.”
